Christmas and Snow?! I think so!

There is no better place to be than home for the holidays.
Fortunately, for us, we got a double bonus of Christmas and snow. My sleepy hometown of Moyock, NC got snowed in under 10 inches of snow. Yes, you should read that again. Ten inches!! It was unbelievable. Truly, it was more snow that I have ever seen there in my entire life.
While the white stuff was still falling out of the sky, we went outside to pummel each other with snowballs and build a snowman/woman/angel person. We all learned a few things while we ran around in the calf-deep snow. First, plastic snow shovels don't do much good against that kind of snowfall. Second, and much more importantly, we are not 15 any more. Each of us came back inside snuffling and frozen through wet jeans (oddly, no one thought to bring their snowsuits) and the next day more than one person was stretching their back or sore knees. Ugh.
Oh well, the price was worth it. There really is no better time to be snowed in. We had all sorts of new books, new games and new movies and ten people (and a dog!) to share it with.

Pasha got the Christmas ham bone and was a REALLY happy puppy for about an hour.

Here it is: the evidence. It was still coming down at this point.
