Old friends in Old Salem

Once again, God has blessed us with an amazing couple of warm days in the middle of what should be a miserable winter. Is it global warming? I don't know, but for now, I'm having a hard time complaining about 60 degree weather in February.

Old Salem in Winston-Salem, NC is a beautiful place to spend these winter/spring days. It stands outside of modern life with horse drawn carriages and a weight of history just oozing from the cobble stones. Old Salem is also home to God's Acre, which is an acre of graves carefully lined up in straight lines. The original Moravian immigrants are buried here according to "choirs" of the church. That is, all the men are buried together, all the women are buried together, boys, girls, etc.  The peace in this place is nearly tangible.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day!
